Jonathan T. Feavel
Jonathan Feavel was born in Oshkosh, WI on April 1, 1969. He completed his preparatory education at Bob Jones University (B.S., Business) in 1991. Thereafter, he attended Regent University School of Law in Virginia Beach, VA. While at Regent University, Feavel acquired numerous scholastic honors including the American Jurisprudence Award for Trial Practice, Regional and National ABA Negotiation titles, and the Award for Excellence for the Outstanding Graduate in the School of Law. Feavel graduated with honors in 1994 and moved to Vincennes, IN.
In October, 1994, Jonathan was admitted to practice law in Indiana and in the U.S. District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Indiana. Although a general practitioner, he has concentrated his practice in the areas of Family, Juvenile, Entertainment and Bankruptcy law. For over twenty (20) years, Jonathan has been certified by the State of Indiana as a Family Law Mediator. As well as representing many individuals, Feavel also cares for the legal work of various charitable organizations including churches, pregnancy care centers and local missions. In 2015, Feavel Law Office became Feavel & Porter, LLP and Andrew K. Porter was welcomed as a law partner.
Jonathan has been married to his wife, Amanda, for over twenty five (25) years; they have two (2) sons, Keeton and Graham. He is a member of the Knox County Bar Association, the Indiana State Bar Association and the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, including the Family Law Section. He was formerly an adjunct professor at Vincennes University where he taught the business of music and career options in the music industry. Feavel is involved in the local community as a founding participant in the Matthew Lot Legal Aid Clinic, and a board member of the Vincennes Urban Enterprise Zone and the Grouseland Foundation (tasked with preserving and promoting the William Henry Harrison presidential home). The Feavel family is active in their local church, Harvest Community Fellowship.
To unwind, Jonathan enjoys playing drums, collecting vinyl records, NFL football, golf and reading. Favorite interests are theology, philosophy and logic. He specifically recommends the authors John Piper, CS Lewis, Deitrich Bonhoeffer, Francis Schaeffer and Mark Discoll. Music is a passion and, at this point, he has lost count of the number of songs and albums in his collection. Above all, Feavel enjoys spending time with his family and friends and is speechless when attempting to describe his appreciation for them.
